A TEACHER from Bury had a chance to grill education secretary Ed Balls at a union conference held over the Easter weekend.
Julie Proctor, a union representative for the National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers, took to the stage on Monday to ask the minister about pensions.
Mrs Proctor, who is a year three teacher at Fairfield Primary School, has been a union rep for a couple of years and has been attending the conferences for the past three years.
She said:”I have always wanted to speak and I thought asking a question would be the simplest way of doing this. I put forward a question last year but it was not picked and this time it was.”
The conference ran from April 2 to 5 in Birmingham.
