I watched the Prime Minister’s Labour Party speech and I was delighted to hear a politician finally speak about helping the elderly of our country.
A pledge to create a National Care Service. Making sure people have the opportunity to be cared for in their old age within there own homes.
He went on to say that we need not have a postcode lottery, social care would be for all not just the few who can pay.
Local authorities would be forced to accept their responsibilities for the elderly and look after our ageing society.
After such a pledge from government to look after us all in our old age, how can Cllr Bibby continue to shun his responsibilities for the elderly of Bury and commit to closing our care homes?
