RADCLIFFE-born film director Danny Boyle took a break from Hollywood to cheer on Bury FC.
He was joined at Gigg Lane by the Lucky Shakers, the club’s cheerleading team put together by Bury Council’s youth service.
The Lucky Shakers are the current national champions in pom dance and won the title to a piece themed on Danny’s hit film Slumdog Millionaire.
Their half-time performance did the trick — as Bury FC won 2-0 against Lincoln City.
Cheerleaders’ coach Liz Norris said: “The girls were in their new, specially-designed kits for the occasion.
“Danny was amused by the chanting we did for him.
“He was really friendly and approachable. It was an honour to meet such a high-profile Oscar-winning film director.”
