Once again, a member of the ruling Conservative administration seeks to overwhelm us with words rather than getting to the point.
I must remind Cllr Dorothy Gunther that commitment is displayed in actions not words.
Many homes in our borough have still not received their brown bins.
Nor does she deny that the ruling Tory group has reduced the frequency of the blue bin collections.
Worse still, there is still no assurance that the Conservatives will continue the weekly collection of grey bins.
However, I fear about what is intended by what Cllr Gunther called “efficient and economic” services. That is usually a code for cuts in service.
And we do know nationally that the Tories are committed to cuts in public services this year, next year and into the future.
