As a young mum with a boy about to start school, I understand the challenges many parents face in ensuring their kids’ diets stay healthy at school.

That’s why I was concerned to see a new report from Kellogg’s claiming a £646 million is being spent each year by kids buying snacks on the way to school. Almost one quarter of all seven to 14-year-olds have a junk food breakfast regularly and a one in every class of 14-year-olds say they go to school on a cigarette.

Sometimes we don’t have the time to give our kids breakfast at home and that’s why I would urge parents to enrol their children in a pre-school breakfast club.
