GREEN-FINGERED pupils have been getting their hands dirty on their school allotment.
Children at Unsworth Primary School, in Blackley Close, have been growing vegetables in their ‘edible garden’.
It was created last year to encourage healthy eating. The youngsters sold vegetables to parents and carers and they raised £230 for the project. Glenn Smith, a school governor, said: “It is a great way of getting the children out of the classroom because it gives them a spark.”
