DADS were cheered on by their children at a football tournament at Radcliffe Borough FC.
Forty men formed eight teams to take part in a friendly five-a-side competition.
The first stage of the competition split the teams into two groups, with the top four teams playing in the “premiership” and the bottom four in the “championship”.
The winners were dads from Sedgley children’s centre in the premiership and from Daisyfield children’s centre in the championship.
Other teams taking part came from Redvales, Hoyles, Sedgley, Butterstile and Daisyfield children’s centres, as well as from the Back to Football programme, Bury Exercise and Therapy Scheme, and a community team from Radcliffe called Hi-5.
The day also included a free pasta lunch, a bouncy castle and face painting.
It proved to be such a success that organisers from Bury Council’s sports development team hope to hold another tournament before Christmas.
