MILITARY bands will perform at the official opening of Bury’s Fusilier Museum on Friday.
The ceremony will feature the Lancashire Fusilier Association Band and members of the Lorne Scots Regimental Pipe and Drum Band from Canada.
It takes place from 1pm to 5pm and will be free to attend.
The £4.2 million museum in Moss Street opened its doors in June and has since attracted thousands of visitors.
The centre displays a rich regimental history, spanning more than 300 years, following the closure of the museum at Wellington Barracks.
It also has a shop and cafe and is home to the town’s tourist information centre.
