AINSWORTH slimmers will be going back in time for a record-breaking 40th birthday party.
More than 500,000 people are expected to attend parties at Slimming World groups around the country between September 28 and October 3.
They hope to set a Guinness World Record by holding the world’s biggest ever birthday party to celebrate Slimming World’s 40th anniversary.
Members of Slimming World’s Ainsworth group will hold a party inspired by 1969.
They will wear fancy dress costumes, listen to music from the time and tuck into party food and drinks.
The party is being held at 5.30pm and 7.15pm on Tuesday, September 29, at Ainsworth Unitarian Schoolroom in Knowsley Road.
Julie Reynolds, who runs the group, said: “The party is the perfect opportunity for people to come along and see what Slimming World is all about.
“They’ll be able to see for themselves what a great time we have in the group each week.
“They’ll also be able to sample delicious dishes from our new Extra Easy eating plan launched to celebrate our 40th anniversary.”
