A BURY firm has been ordered to pay more than £5,000 after a crackdown on illegal vehicle dismantlers.
Breaking Toyotas Ltd, in Pimhole Road, appeared at Bury Magistrates Court charged with operating a waste vehicle dismantling facility without the required environmental permit. The company pleaded guilty and was fined £3,000, and ordered to pay costs of £2,306. It has now applied for the relevant permit.
The Environment Agency launched the prosecution as part of a campaign to reduce the number of sites operating without the necessary permit.
