WOMEN who suffer a heart attack wait longer to call for help because they don’t recognise the symptoms.
New figures reveal around 130 women and 147 men in Bury die from heart attacks each year.
According to a report by the British Heart Foundation, one-third of women would not recognise symptoms because they expect to experience severe chest pain.
Women wait on average 24 minutes longer than men to call 999 after experiencing symptoms.
