THE SUPREMO of supermarket giant Asda visited the company’s Radcliffe store last Friday as part of a mammoth sponsored bike ride.
Andy Bond, chief executive of Asda, made a stop at the Radcliffe store en route from Land’s End to John O’Groats.
He is cycling more than 1,000 miles in 10 days to raise money for the Pedal Power campaign, which will set up 300 community bicycle clubs.
Staff at the supermarket have been collecting donations from customers and testing their skills on a gym cycling machine in the store’s foyer in support of Mr Bond.
Graham Price, general store manager of Asda in Radcliffe, said: “We’re all extremely proud of the challenge Andy is taking on.
“And it is a great honour that he stopped in Radcliffe on the way.”
