A TEENAGER has been chosen to represent Bury in a singing contest.
Enola Dyer, aged 18, beat off stiff competition in an audition for Open Mic UK 2009.
She impressed a panel of judges with her performance of Katy Perry’s Thinking of You and went through to the next round.
Enola, of Ribchester Drive, Bury, hopes for similar success when she appears in the regional final on October 18 at The Willows in Salford.
If she progresses through the regional final, she will reach the national final and the chance to win a recording contract.
Enola said: “I entered the competition at the last minute and was really surprised to get through to the regional final. I’m really pleased. I will be doing lots of rehearsing before the final.
“I want as many people as possible to go along to the regional final and support me. I am proud to be representing Bury.”
Fans can get a sneak preview of her performance next Wednesday when she competes in Powersound, at Radcliffe Civic Suite.
Enola, who is due to start a performing arts degree at Carlisle University, reached the final last year and is hoping to do even better this time.
Tickets for the regional final of Open Mic UK 2009 are available by contacting Enola on 07980 431203 or by emailing enola_ drama_queen@hotmail.co.uk.
