A TEAM of mountain bikers from Ramsbottom is holding challenging races over the next few weeks.
Final preparations are coming together for the second series of Brownback’s cross country mountain bike races.
New and experienced bikers from across the UK are invited to compete in various categories for top prizes. The series one event attracted bikers from as far as Edinburgh and Herefordshire.
Chairman Paul McKeown said: “We are introducing new categories and course layouts to keep those that might have entered before on their toes and look forward to seeing new racers alongside the familiar faces at the starting line.”
Races will take place this Sunday and on September 27 and October 18.
Entrants aged 15 and 16 can enter a new lads and lasses category, while those 17 and above will be entered in the main race. However, all entrants aged under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The event is sponsored by Leisure Lakes, Bury, and online bike shop Hope. There will be a competition to find the fastest bike shop in the area.
Registration opens from 8.30am to 9.30am, with races starting at 10am on the day.
