AN employment company which is spearheading the recruitment of people with disabilities has relocated to Tottington.
The British Association of Supported Employment (BASE) will mark the move with a seminar at Manchester’s Radisson Edwardian Hotel next Tuesday, September 8.
BASE has moved its operational office from Gloucester to Bury Road, Tottington. Huw Davies, executive director and Fred Bowen, training and development officer have been recruited to manage the interests of the association members.
Previously, both worked for Bury Employment Support and Training (BEST).
Next week’s seminar will raise awareness of the benefits of firms recruiting staff with disabilities and is being supported by Jobcentre Plus, Government Office for the North West, NHS North West, Greater Manchester Employer Coalition and others.
Delegates will also be able to discuss how to get funding from the Government’s Access to Work scheme, particularly for people who are experiencing mental health needs.
The event is part of BASE’s annual conference at Manchester Metropolitan University next Thursday and Friday, September 10-11.
For further information call Fred Bowen on 01204 880733, email fred.bowen@base-uk.org or visit base-uk.org/conference
