A RAMSBOTTOM student has a few tricks up his sleeve if he struggles to get a job after he graduates.

Adam Dadswell could well conjure up a career as an entertainer after qualifying as a member of the Magic Circle.

The 20-year-old has already performed routines for family and friends and, with several bookings pending, he hopes interest in his flair for magic won’t be disappearing.

Adam, of Brooksbottom Close, said: “The Magic Circle qualification is a benchmark in my recognition and I’m delighted they’ve accepted me. After passing an interview, I then performed a routine of between 12 and 15 minutes and was one of around 30 magicians that were being assessed.”

Adam’s expertise is in close up performance, using cards or coins as his main “props”.

The former Woodhey High School pupil is combining his occasional performances with his information technology and media communications degree studies at Lancaster University.

He first became interested in the art after attending a magic show in London’s Convent Garden in 2006.

His main claim to fame was performing a card trick for Shane Ritchie during a recording of TV’s Don’t Forget the Lyrics programme in which his girlfriend was appearing.
