work to create an Indian restaurant at a former Liberal club is progressing.
The building in Robin Road, Summerseat, is being transformed into an Indian-Bangladeshi eatery.
Alom Bodorul, who used to run Eastern Eye in Ramsbottom, has started work on the project. He said: “There is nothing like this in Summerseat and the building has been empty for about three or four years so I wanted to give locals something different. Feedback has been really positive.”
He has submitted a planning application to Bury Council to replace the old windows and rear chimney and erect a sign. He does not need permission to change the use of the site because the Liberal club used to serve food.
Mr Bodorul hopes the restaurant will be open for business before the end of the year.
