A PENSIONER has died after a road collision in Bury.
Eileen Allanson, aged 79 from Bury, was crossing Ainsworth Road at about 5pm on Friday when she collided with a Toyota Avensis.
She sustained numerous fractures to her arms and legs, and also a head injury, and was rushed to Fairfield Hospital.
She died shortly before 7pm.
A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving with excess alcohol and has been bailed until October 29 2009 pending further inquiries.
Police closed the road around Chantler's Avenue for two hours while an investigation was carried out.
Police are asking for any witnesses to the collision to call the Area Two Road Policing Unit on 0161 856 3571.
