CHILDREN in Bury’s primary schools have proved they are up to the mark.
For they have made the grade once again in this year’s national tests for 11-year-olds. New figures show 77 per cent of children achieved the expected Level 4 in both English and maths.
That is five per cent above the national average and places Bury in the top 15 of English local authorities.
The Key Stage 2 results in separate subjects were also high, with 84 per cent of children achieving the expected level in English (four per cent above the national average), 82 per cent in maths (three per cent above the national average) and 90 per cent in science (two per cent above the national average).
