IT’S not just the moon landing which can lay claim to a 40th anniversary celebration.
For Bury businessman Glynn Warburton is marking four decades at Bury-based chartered accountants Horsfield & Smith.
The 56-year-old, of Walshaw Park, joined the company as an accounts clerk in 1969. At that time, the firm was based in Bury town centre before moving to its current location in Walmersley Road in 1993.
Throughout his career, Glynn has been involved with owner-managed businesses and is the company’s small business manager. A buffet lunch was held to mark his 40 years of service.
Glynn thanked the directors and staff of Horsfield & Smith for their support over the years and for their gifts and cards.
He said: “It’s amazing how quickly the years have passed by. Who would have thought that when I started work for Horsfield & Smith, just after man had landed on the moon, that I would still be here 40 years later. Hopefully, there are still good years left in me.”
