I NOTICED with interest the article in the Bury Times, “Parkhills area gets clean-up” (August 6), and would personally like to express my thanks to all concerned at the Bethesda Church for arranging this and putting in so much effort to make the area one to be proud of, and the cleanest I’ve seen it in 10 years!
It’s a bit of a statement of modern times when church members feel moved to undertake something like this, and it is now down to ALL residents of the community to keep the area clean and tidy.
You only need to move the rubbish outside your own home and bin it!
Possibly Bury Football Club, FC United and the fast food outlets and pubs of Parkhills Road could help by cleaning up, especially after matches.
Much of the mess in the area is made by football fans and fast food/pub customers! Once again, many thanks to Bethesda Church — it now looks less like a council rubbish tip around here!
Let’s all keep it that way!
