WITH regards to the story, “Town’s schools expel most in the country” (Bury Times, August 6), this was a damning indictment of the state of social cohesion in the nation at large and this town in particular.
A state of affairs brought about by the Thatcherite philosophy of the individual and developed to its current position of “Me! Me! Me!” by Blair and the current bunch of Westminster self-seekers.
There is a solution, but unfortunately it is not going to happen. The populace in general have tasted the fruits of untrammelled avarice and greed and are as “sure as hell” not going to relinquish them.
Thatcher unlocked Pandora’s Box, Blair and his cronies removed the lid. Best of luck to those who attempt to put it back on!
