POLICE officers will swap their usual cars and vans for a “battle bus” as part of a campaign to reduce burglaries.
The vehicle is travelling across Greater Manchester to provide information about crime prevention and discuss residents’ concerns.
It is part of a joint initiative with First Bus and Crimestoppers to tackle burglaries in the area.
The bus will be touring the streets of Sedgley Park, Besses and Bury East tomorrow as part of the campaign.
Claire Johnson, commercial director for First in Manchester, said: “We are pleased to be working in co-operation with Greater Manchester Police to get the message out to our local communities on the safety and security of their homes.
“Please look out for the bright yellow burglary bus and take advantage of the free information packs available on board.”
