The new Fusilier Museum in Moss Street, Bury, has proved to be very popular with visitors and managed to reach a major landmark this week.
Mike Booth, the museums General Manager, said: “We have only been open a month and already we have had more visitors that we had at our former site at Wellington Barracks in a whole year!
"We have been particularly pleased to see so many families enjoying a visit and joining in with our children’s activities we have throughout the school holidays”.
The Museum will also be commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Minden this Saturday, August 1. This is one of five Regimental dates commemorated throughout the year and admission to the museum will be free - though donations are always welcome!
“This will be an ideal opportunity for visitors to learn more about this special day learn about the Minden Rose,” said Mike.
The museum will open at 11am, closing at 5pm with last admission at 4.30pm
