A CALENDAR featuring exclusive pictures of Scout Moor wind farm has gone on sale.
The 2009 calendar has been created by Paul Anderson, of Nuttall Lane in Ramsbottom, who has passionately followed the £50 million project over the last 18 months.
The keen photographer has captured picturesque shots of the 26-turbine farm throughout various stages of construction and there were so many to choose from that a limited edition 14 month calendar has been produced.
Paul said: “Being just a few minutes away, I was able to get great pictures of the construction of the wind farm from delivery, to construction and finally to opening.
“I was up there come rain or shine and feel I’ve captured the wind farm through the seasons and hope the calendar is a lasting memory and people treasure it as a keepsake.”
Paul began the project after befriending Peel Energy engineers when walking his dog on the moors and got 6,000 clips altogether.
“I just got carried away and it became an obsession,” he continued.
“The wind farm has become a real tourist attraction so I wanted to make a souvenir.
“I’ve met a lot of interesting people and now people from all over the world are getting in touch about the photographs.”
Interest has rocketed and since going on sale 500 of the 2,000 calendars have gone with copies being sold as far away as Devon, Oxford and even France.
The A4 calendar is priced at £6.50 and available online at scoutmoorwindfarmcalendar.co.uk.
