A landmark Bury town centre pub which recently relaunched after a prolonged closure has been put up for sale with a guide price of £500,000.
The Clarence, on the corner of Silver Street and Bolton Street, is officially up for sale.
The four‑storey venue is described in the listing by leisure property company, Fleurets, as a “substantial freehold asset in a prime position” overlooking the Robert Peel statue and Bury Parish Church.

The 6,845 sq ft building at 2 Silver Street sits on one of the town’s main leisure circuits close to surrounding pubs and bars.
The Clarence has seen a turbulent few years after it closed abruptly in 2022.
Speaking at the time, bosses told the Bury Times they had “no knowledge” of when or if it would reopen after a notice appeared in the window stating the premises was shut until further notice.
The closure followed a period in which the venue had become known for its ambitious food, in‑house Silver Street Brewing Co beers and strong reputation on the dining scene.
The pub reopened again in October last year after sitting empty for almost three years. It now trades as an independent venue with a focus on cask ales from small local breweries.
Earlier this year, it was announced that award‑winning chef Lawrence Lingard, who grew up in Manchester, was taking over the kitchen at the historic site, with the upstairs function room also earmarked for refurbishment in a move hailed as “an exciting new chapter for the pub”.
Fleurets say the freehold is now available with the building fully fitted for continued bar, restaurant and events use, offering bar and dining areas across the ground and first floors, a dedicated function and cocktail bar space above and an enclosed rear courtyard providing covered and open outdoor trading space.
In the basement there are customer facilities, a beer cellar and space previously used for micro‑brewing, reflecting its more recent life as home to Silver Street Brewing Co rather than its earlier 20th‑century incarnations.

Tim Martin, divisional director at Fleurets North West, said: “The Clarence represents a strong opportunity to acquire a substantial freehold asset in a prominent town centre location, with a fully fitted trading environment already in place.
“The property is well suited to an experienced operator looking to realise the venue’s full potential. Alternatively, its layout supports a range of other uses, subject to the necessary consents.”
