He is due to appear at Bolton Crown Court on January 3.

A GoFundMe page crowdfunding has been set up to help replace the funds, which are used to provide hospice care at the Rochdale Old Road facility, and has so far raised more than £1,000.

A hospice spokesperson added: “We are now looking at what additional security measures we need to put in place in our shops to protect our staff and volunteers and are working with the local police.”
