The Poundland Bescot Stadium in Walsall is set to host the FA Women’s National League Cup Final.

The final will take place on Women’s Football Weekend – 22/23 March – and the 11,300-seater stadium follows Luton Town’s Kenilworth Road as hosts.

Two of the quarter-finals of the Cup are taking place on Sunday, with holders Hashtag United one of eight teams still in the running to lift the trophy won by Arsenal, Leeds United and Fulham amongst others.

One of the longest-running cup competitions in women’s football, the FA WNL Cup sees teams from Tiers 3 and 4 battle it out for silverware.

The other seven teams competing for the FA WNL Cup are Plymouth Argyle, Watford, Burnley, Stoke City, and Nottingham Forest of the third tier, with Middlesbrough and Real Bedford hoping to cause a cupset.

Four of the teams sit in the top three of their respective divisions as they battle for glory on multiple fronts in the 2024/25 season, with Forest top of the Northern Premier Division and Burnley in third.

Hashtag are second in the Southern Premier Division while their opponents Bedford lead Division One South East having been promoted last season.

The Bescot Stadium will stage the showpiece for the first time, following on from hosting Aston Villa Women’s WSL and League Cup matches, as well as Walsall’s women’s team.

Sue Hough MBE, Chair of the FA Women’s National League Board said: “The FA WNL is continuing to grow each year, and the leagues are becoming more competitive.

"We are reflecting this growth in the calibre of stadiums we’re selecting for the League Cup Final.

“The final is always one of the best days in the calendar and this year’s will be no different.

Nick Adshead, Walsall FC Club Secretary added: “We are delighted that our club has been chosen to host this season’s FA Women’s National League Cup Final.

“This prestigious event represents a significant milestone not only for Walsall FC but also for women’s football in the area, which continues to grow and inspire.”

Tickets for the final will go on sale once the Semi-Finals have taken place and the date and kick-off time are confirmed.
