Update: The issue has been dealt with and only one home remains without power.

Electricity North West is dealing with power outages across West Heywood with more than 120 properties affected.

It has been caused by an unexpected incident on the high-voltage cable that provides energy to properties.

Engineers became aware of the incident at 8.50 am this morning, November 30 and the team is currently on their way to investigate.

The provider expects the energy to be back online by 11.49am today, but this may be extended once they’ve identified the problem.

A spokesperson from Electricity North West said: “This power cut has been caused by an unexpected incident on the high voltage cable that provides electricity to your home or business.

“We didn't know before your electricity went off that this was going to happen but now we know, rest assured we will get your power back on safely and as quickly as possible.

“Please be aware that all our timescales are estimated based on previous experience and may change if new information becomes available while our engineers are fixing the issue.

“With high voltage power cuts, we're often able to get many of the homes involved back on before our estimated time of restoration.

“We will keep you updated on this number with further updates and information.”
