Households across the borough are receiving details of their refuse collection dates for the festive season.
The leaflets, which include information on changes over Christmas and New Year, include the 2025 collection calendar and a roll of compostable food caddy liners.
They will be distributed over the next four to five weeks.
Residents are also reminded that blue bins now accept additional plastic items such as pots, tubs, and trays.
Bin collections scheduled for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will occur one day earlier, while collections due after Christmas Day will be one day later than usual.
However, collections scheduled for Tuesday, January 31, remain unchanged.
Cllr Alan Quinn, cabinet member for the environment, climate change and operations, said: "The festive season always brings more waste – from Christmas cards to wrapping paper and boxes, not to mention all the leftover food, drinks bottles, chocolate tubs and food cartons.
"Please do your bit to help us recycle as much as possible.
"Remember – you can now put extra plastic items in your blue bin, as we now collect plastic pots, tubs and trays as well as plastic bottles.
"Help us by putting out your bins on the right day, and put the right waste in the right bin.
"Any extra waste can be taken to your nearest household waste and recycling centres, which are open every day except December 25 and January 1."
