Two people have been released in connection with a "disturbance" outside a pub in which a man has been left fighting for his life.
The incident took place outside The Swan pub on Tottington Road in Tottington on Saturday at around 11.30pm.
The victim, a man in his late 40s, was taken to hospital after suffering "life-threatening injuries"
A cordon was put in place and the car park and pub building was taped off on Sunday morning.
Greater Manchester Police said two people had been arrested on suspicion of assault.

A force spokesperson said: "On Saturday, November 16 at around 11.30pm we received a report of a disturbance on Tottington Road in Bury.
“Officers attended and located a man in his late 40s who was taken to hospital with serious injuries, he remains there for treatment to what is believed to be life-threatening injuries.
"Arrests have been made in relation to the incident, and enquiries are ongoing.”
GMP has now confirmed that the two people have been released on bail.
