A man is fighting for his life following a 'disturbance'.
Police placed a cordon around The Swan Pub on Tottington Road, Woolfold following the incident on Saturday night.
Officers have confirmed that arrests have been made.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "On Saturday 16 November at around 11.30pm we received a report of a disturbance on Tottington Road in Bury.
“Officers attended and located a man in his late 40s who was taken to hospital with serious injuries, he remains there for treatment to what is believed to be life-threatening injuries.
"Arrests have been made in relation to the incident, and enquiries are ongoing
The pub was closed overnight as police investigated the scene.

Police tape was still around the scene the following Sunday morning around the car park and pub building.
Another eyewitness said that they saw forensic officers at the pub in the early hours of this morning.
Detectives have appealed for anyone with any information to get in touch by calling 101 quoting log number 3430 of 16/11/24.
