A managing director at a borough manufacturing firm has been named as a nominee in an award list.
Claire Watson, managing director of Bury-based Airmatic, has been included in the Northern Leaders Futures 2024 list.
The list includes 75 people aged under 45 who have made a positive difference in the North.
Ms Watson said: "I’m delighted to be nominated and to fly the flag for our sector.
"All too often, engineering is not considered as a career with prospects in the UK.
"Hi-tech jobs often seem sexier, but in truth, firms like ours are still the industrial backbone of Britain with great prospects for everyone."
Airmatic, which makes a vast range of sheet metal fabrications, has a turnover of £3m and is predicting an 80 per cent turnover growth.
The company is also looking to take on more staff to cope with demand.
Ms Watson said: "This year we expect to see an 80 per cent growth in turnover and we’re in the process of taking on more staff to cope with this.
"Our unique combination of advanced design, manufacturing and on-site installation is something few of our competitors offer and I foresee excellent growth in the sectors we specialise in."
