The Made in Bury business loans initiative has awarded its first interest-free loan.
The scheme, launched in October, aims to support start-ups in the area by providing financial assistance.
The inaugural loan was approved on October 29 by a panel of local business leaders.
The panel, consisting of representatives from Connect Comms, Cosalea, Stay N Play Doggy Daycare, Platinum Care, and WHN Solicitors, granted a £5,000 loan to Printabulous, a new start-up in Prestwich.
The funds will be used to purchase a DTF (Direct-to-Film) printer and a compatible computer, essential equipment that will help the printing business expand.
Printabulous offers a range of services, including printing and embroidery on t-shirts, hoodies, school uniforms, and workwear, as well as printing on mugs, posters, flyers, and wedding invitations.
Neil Silverman, the owner of Printabulous, said: "Made in Bury have been incredible in supporting our business with this interest-free loan to help us grow our business at a faster rate than forecasted.
"The new DTF machine has increased our output massively.
"Printing garments with DTF offers vibrant, durable designs on a large variety of textiles.
"Thank you, Made in Bury."
Debi and Phil Felone of Made in Bury said: "We have funds available to help local start-up businesses here in Bury, providing them with interest-free loans to remove financial barriers and provide vital support during the early stages of their journey.
"We are excited to see the impact this loan will have on Printabulous and look forward to seeing them grow and contribute to the local economy."
The initiative is open to businesses under three years old in the Borough of Bury that cannot secure funding from traditional sources.
