At this special time of year, we are inviting you to honour those who have passed away but will never be forgotten.
This year’s Light up a Life services will bring comfort and warmth during the festive season as you remember and pay tribute to your loved ones, by dedicating a light in their memory.
Each dedicated light will shine brightly on the beautiful Christmas trees throughout the festive season, (with one tree based at Bury Hospice, and the other at Bury Parish Church, where both services will be taking place next month).
There will be a poignant moment of silence before the Christmas tree lights are switched on, giving everybody the time needed to reflect and remember those we so sorely miss.
We are grateful to event sponsor, Fred Hamer Funeral Services, and MK Illumination for sponsoring the lights on the Christmas trees.
By dedicating a light you will be shining the memory of your loved one for all to see.
Your dedications will be featured on a special tribute page as a symbol of love, and you will receive a personalised dedication card that can proudly be displayed at home.
We also invite you to make a kind donation in support of local families, for some of whom, this will sadly be the last Christmas spent together.
By pledging a donation to the Light up a Life appeal, you are showing patients how much you care by helping to make the festive period as memorable as possible for them.
As an independent charity, it costs £4.5m per year to run the hospice – only 13 per cent of which is government funded.
The donations received through the Light up a Life appeal will go a long way towards making the Christmas period extra special for all who require the hospice’s essential palliative and end-of-life care and support services.
The hospice is hosting two Light up a Life Services this year.
There will be a service on Sunday, December 1 at the Rochdale Old Road hospice at 4pm.
And the second service will be on Wednesday, December 4 at Bury Parish Church, The Rock, at 7.30pm.
