Officers in Heywood are appealing for information after a sexual assault occurred at a bus stop.

The incident happened on Saturday, October 26 at around 6.45pm at a bus stop on Bury New Road where a female was approached by a man and made sexually inappropriate comments to her.

Police want to speak to the man pictured as they believe he may be able to assist with investigations.

Police have followed up several lines of enquiry and are asking for the public’s assistance.

A spokesperson for GMP said: “Officers are appealing to speak to this man as we believe he can assist with investigations following a reported sexual offence at a bus stop on Bury New Road, Heywood on Saturday 26 October at around 6.45pm.

“It was reported that the victim was at the bus stop when a male approached her and made sexually inappropriate comments.

“Officers investigating this incident have followed up with several lines of enquiry and are now in a position to ask for the public’s assistance.

“If you saw anything suspicious on Bury New Road around 6.45pm, or anyone with information, is encouraged to call 0161 856 8726 quoting Log 1497 of 27/10/2024.
