A man was caught on camera stamping down the contents of a wheelie bin - before toppling over as his son watched in bewilderment.
James Leigh, 45, wanted to fit more into the green bin after doing some gardening at his property in Sale.
So he decided to stamp down the contents by climbing into the bin.
He stepped down from the wall outside his house, but lost balance - and the wheelie bin tipped right over, with him in it.
James, a head chef, was deposited on the floor - while son Harry, 15, watched on, stunned.
James' wife, Louise Leigh, 45, found out what had happened after popping outside to ask her family what they wanted for lunch.
They then had the bright idea to check their CCTV footage - to discover the hilarious mishap had been captured on camera.
Louise, a teacher, said: "I was in the house when James decided to stamp down the bin, which was full of twigs and branches.
"He stood on the wall of the house and then I think he just lost his balance as he stepped into the bin.
"Or it might have been weighted more to one side than the other.
"My son didn't even react, or come in and tell me.
"When I stepped outside to speak to them, James said 'I've just fallen out of the bin!'
"When we saw the CCTV, it was just so funny. I sent it to all my friends. And they showed their friends."
The incident happened on Saturday, October 26.
James has since been banned from stamping down the bin again without someone stood beside him holding it stable.
Louise said: "He was fine afterwards except his arms were a bit sore. But it could have been more serious."
