Bury will fall silent on Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country.
The services come in the same year which marks the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings in June 1944, a military action which ultimately led to the end of the Second World War.
Cllr Sandra Walmsley, cabinet member for communities and inclusion, said: “Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day hold a special place in all our hearts, as we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country’s freedom.
"Bury is a proud borough filled with a rich military history that we continually work to support, remember and celebrate.
"I am looking forward to seeing our armed forces community across Bury over this weekend and on Armistice Day.”
