Dozens of bags of cannabis were found under a pile of leaves after a group of men were allegedly spotted drug dealing in Bury.

Police said the drug dealing was being carried out at a back street location close to Manchester Road, and a number of residents had reported this.

Moorside and Redvales PCSOs were on patrol in the area on Sunday when they said they saw two men acting suspiciously, with one of them covering something with his foot before leaving.

Following a search, fifty snap bags of cannabis were recovered.

A police spokesperson said: “On Sunday, Moorside and Redvales PCSOs were on patrol near Manchester Road Park.

“Residents have made the neighbourhood team aware of several males seen drug dealing from a back street location on Manchester Road, with the last report being only days prior.

“Upon patrolling the area, PCSOs encountered two males acting suspiciously.

"One was seen covering something with his foot before making off at speed.

“PCSOs searched the area near where he was standing and found the cause of his suspicious behaviour.

“Fifty snap bags of cannabis, all various sizes and street value, were recovered from under a pile of leaves.

“The team encourage residents to continue to report as the more we know, the more we can do.”
