Two mopeds have been seized in a Bury park after they were reportedly being ridden on pavements and the play area.

Police were sent to Clarence Park on Wednesday and reportedly caught "two young lads" on mopeds riding through the park.

Officers said the riders were riding on pavements and the play area.

Both mopeds were seized, and the riders were told to only use the vehicles in designated areas and on private land.

A Bury police spokesperson said: “Yesterday (Wednesday, October 30), the town centre neighbourhood team and Radcliffe neighbourhood team responded to concerns from members of the public about the use of motorbikes in Clarence Park and the lido.

“Unfortunately for two young lads, officers were in the right place at the right time.

“This resulted in the seizure of two mopeds after they were observed being driven through the park on the pavements and then onto a play area!

“The use of motorbikes and off-road vehicles in and around our communities contributes to anti-social behaviour in the area, we advise riders and users of these vehicles to do it in designated areas and on private land.

“Otherwise, we'll continue to take these vehicles from their owners to prevent further issues!”
