A Bury care home has opened a residential and dementia suite.
Burrswood House's The Lowry Suite offers 17 ground-floor bedrooms with ensuite facilities and communal areas overlooking gardens.
The suite is a product of months of preparation by home manager Andrew Polverino and his team.
The opening follows an inspection by regulator, the Care Quality Commission, which rated the provider "good" in all areas.
The care home was also recently recognised as a finalist in The Great British Care Awards 2024.
The name of the new suite was chosen through a collaborative process, involving residents, families, staff members, and stakeholders.
Bury mayor, Cllr Khalid Hussain JP, went to the care home to help with its official opening,
Burrswood House registered manager Andrew Polverino said: "As the registered manager at Burrswood, I’m delighted with the opening of our newly refurbished suite, The Lowry Suite.
"I am excited to invite new residents to be part of our fantastic home and look forward to supporting our community with more resources during challenging times across the sector.
"I am deeply proud of the journey my team have taken in making Burrswood House a fantastic place to live and work."
Mr Polverino added: "The Lowry Suite will offer care to residents who live with dementia and will be a safe place for residents to live and enjoy.
"If there is anything I have learned from the refurbishment of The Lowry Suite, it’s that I am no decorator, and quite honestly, I’m glad about that."
The care home, located just a five-minute walk from Bury Market, is committed to keeping residents engaged with a range of activities and events.
Burrswood House is keen on "maintaining strong connections" with the community and is inviting people to be part of this development.
