A teenager has appeared in court after a young man was stabbed last week.

Emergency services were sent to the St John's Court area of Radcliffe on Thursday at around 3.45pm where a 20-year-old man had been attacked.

The victim suffered serious injuries not thought to be "life-threatening", and the incident was believed to be "targeted, with no wider threat to the public", police said.

The road was sealed off for several hours following the stabbing as detectives launched an investigation.

Daudi Bakari, 18, of Grange Grove, Whitefield, appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court yesterday, Monday, and following the hearing, he faces charges of grievous bodily harm by causing wounding with intent, and possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.

The 18-year-old is now due to appear at Manchester Minshull Street Court on Monday, December 2 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
