More than half of Bury households have signed up for bin collection reminders.
The council launched the free service to help residents remember to put out the correct bin on the correct day and to keep them informed of any changes to the schedule.
Those who have not signed up have been encouraged to.
Cllr Alan Quinn, cabinet member for the environment, climate change, and operations, said: "Keeping our neighbourhoods clean and green is a shared responsibility and signing up for bin reminders is a simple yet impactful way to contribute and keep your home and community tidy.
"If you haven’t already signed up, join your neighbours in making managing household waste a whole lot easier."
The reminders are sent via email the day before a collection, informing recipients which colour bin to put out.
This means that residents should never miss a collection again and will be notified of any changes or delays to the collection schedule.
They will also not have to worry about forgetting to put their bin out on time.
Signing up is free and only requires residents to visit the council website and enter their postcode and email address.
