A new bar offering live music is set to open this week with a grand opening event tomorrow night, Thursday.

The Hideout Bar on Sherbourne Street in Prestwich, situated above the Bargain Booze shop and Dokes Pizzaria, promises a free drink on arrival for guests who visit on their opening night and music from their resident DJ.

The venue will be run by siblings Steven, Joanne and Michelle Monks, owners of the former Hideaway Coffee Bar on Bury New Road, which closed in June.

Their new venture will bring additions to their much-loved menu.

Lots of hard work has gone into getting the bar up and running and excitement is now building as the plans come to fruition.

Steven said: “We’ve had a lot of people asking about us opening, it feels like there's a buzz about it so we’re really happy.

“It's been a year in the making, and we’re right near the end now, so we’re just looking forward to opening and seeing all of our regular customers from the Hideaway.

“We’re still doing the same menu as was at the Hideaway Cafe but with the addition of some extras such as pie and mash from Pie Minister, hanging kebabs and burgers."

Lunch will also be served from 12pm until 6.30pm with a DJ on Friday and Saturday evenings and there are hopes of a live singer on Sundays.

Steven added: “It’s been challenging but because it’s a family input it has made the opening a lot easier."

He has also said major £100m plans to regenerate Prestwich’s are encouraging and a “positive for hospitality businesses in the area”.
