With the October half-term just around the corner, we’ve pulled together a list of family-friendly Halloween events and activities from across the borough to help keep the kids (and grown-ups) occupied this spooky season.
Spooktacular - Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS)
A bumper event with a Halloween tour, fairground rides, a magician, food stands, bouncy castles and more. Raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity, tickets are £4 person or £12 for a family of four.

Monster Mash Pumpkin Bash - Mill Gate Shopping Centre
This free event offers shoppers the chance to pick their own pumpkins, get their faces painted and take spooky selfies.

Spooky Fun Day - Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary
The Bury Old Road sanctuary is hosting an afternoon of fun with games, food and craft, stalls. There will be a children fancy dress competition and a ‘best dressed’ dog competition, both at 1pm. Entry is £2 per person.

Halloween Charity Family Event – St Margarets Tavern
In aid of Christies and Bury Hospice, this event promises kids party games, a tarot reader, market stalls, raffles and face painting.

Mixed Moo Spooktacular – Moo Music
Boogie on down to a Halloween themed music session with sensory lights, ribbons and more. Kids can also make a Halloween wreath, decorate biscuits, make a witch’s brew and get their hands on pumpkin-spiced play dough. Tickets are £12.50 per child (with one adult), £8 per sibling.

Halloween Spooky Kids Party – Radcliffe Market
Heywood charity Trewan Sands Children’s Trust are hosting a party at Radcliffe Market with craft, a disco, food and drink, table top stalls and fancy dress prizes to be won, make sure you get your glad rags on.

Zombie Nerf Battle – Secret Garden Hoyles Park
Put your skills to the test with something a little bit different. Who doesn’t love a spooky nerf battle? Suitable for ages 6-16 years, tickets are £6.

Incredible Edible Halloween Party – Purbeck Park
With pumpkin decorating, hide and treat, a piñata, hot food and more, this community get together is free to attend but donations are welcome.

Children’s Halloween Craft Party – The Sundial
With a special prize for best fancy dress, enjoy an afternoon of crafting, treats and delightful frights. £5 each and booking is required.

Funtastics Halloween Party
One for all the family, guests can have their picture taken with the Sanderson sisters, dance the monster mash with a DJ and entertainment team and enjoy free buffet style food. Tickets are £19.95 per child and £2.50 per adult.

Halloween Ghost Trains – East Lancashire Railway
Jump on the ghost train and take a spooky ride from Bury station to Irwell Vale. They also have a haunted house walkthrough with jump scares and the ELR Monster Squad will be lurking so keep your eyes open. Adult tickets from £20 each, children from £14.

Little Crows Workshop – The Met
Hosted by Two Crows Art Studio, children aged 4+ can get involved with specially prepared spooking crafts. Tickets are £4 per child plus booking fees.
