A couple whose twin babies died nine years ago are keeping up their efforts in helping families who have faced similar traumatic experiences to them.

In October 2015, Gemma and Daniel Morgan, from Bury, were left heartbroken following the deaths of their twins Archie and Ayla.

Gemma had contracted an infection and the babies were tragically delivered stillborn at 22 weeks.

Since then, the couple have been raising raising funds for the 4louis charity as it has helped them through the grieving process and enabled them to "keep Archie and Ayla's memories alive".

UK charity 4Louis supports anyone affected by miscarriage, stillbirth and the death of a baby or child.

Gemma said: “Our babies may not have been here for long, but we will make sure they have an impact on the world, and if we can help one family who have suffered a loss, then it's all worth it.”

In the last nine years, Gemma and Daniel have been fundraising through a number of events with help from the charity.

The couple have been raising funds for a cuddle cot, which allows grieving families to spend time with their babies after they have died, at Wythenshawe Hospital.

They have also donated a cuddle cot to Saint Mary's Hospital in Manchester and amassed funds for multiple "memory boxes".

"They allow families to spend time making memories with their babies after they have passed away before they have to say goodbye.

“We have donated a cuddle got to the Royal Bolton Hospital where Archie and Ayla were born, and we've paid for the complete refurbishment of the bereavement suite at Bolton, which is now named the Butterfly Suite, in memory of Archie and Ayla.”

They have always been "amazed" by the support given from businesses.

Gemma said: “We have been holding fundraising events in memory of Archie and Ayla for nine years now and we are always blown away by the support of everyone involved.

"Our events are always extremely well attended and local businesses have been amazing in donating prizes.

“We have done all kinds of events from race nights to family fun days, Christmas fairs and black tie balls. We plan to continue our efforts to support 4Louis.”
