Mary is sent to a mother and baby home to live out her pregnancy in secret alongside other young, unmarried girls as the birth of their babies’ approaches.
But as a firm friendship between the girls grows out of their shared experiences and fears, Mary discovers she is expected to give up her baby for adoption, and the story takes a desperate turn.
The play features a catchy soundtrack of hits from the 60s as the girls bond over a love of girl-group records, including the famous Ronettes song “Be My Baby”, which gives the play its name.
