Bury residents are being asked to help shape community safety plans for the next few years.

The Bury Community Safety Partnership, which includes the council, Greater Manchester Police, and other services, is refreshing its strategy for 2025 to 2028.

The team wants to hear from residents, visitors, and those who work in the area to ensure the borough remains one of the safest places in Greater Manchester.

Cllr Sandra Walmsley, cabinet member for communities and inclusion, said: "Bury is already one of the safest boroughs in Greater Manchester, but we cannot be complacent and rest on our laurels.

"Making our neighbourhoods safer is one of the most important ways that we will deliver our ambitions for the borough.

"It has such an important role to play in improving people’s quality of life, improved educational attainment, and economic growth."

“Our aim is to build safer, stronger, more resilient communities across Bury.

"The most important contribution comes from listening to our communities and residents.

"Let us know which community safety matters are the most important to you, your friends, and family; what makes you feel safe; and how we can work together to make the borough a safe place for all."

People are being encouraged to share their views online at the council website or fill in a paper survey available at various locations, such as Bury Town Hall, East Bury Family Hub, and several libraries.

Partnership colleagues will be out and about across the borough to gather people's views.

They will be at Aldi Whitefield from 10am until 12noon on Monday, October 14, and at Kay Gardens on Wednesday, October 16, from 10am until 4pm.

They will also be at the Bridge Community Church, in Radcliffe, from 11am until noon on the same day.

Other events will take place until Thursday, November 7, with the deadline for responses being Friday, November 8.

Locations include Morrisons in Whitefield, St Andrew’s Church in Whitefield, Radcliffe Market, Morrisons in Ramsbottom, Heaton Park gates, Tottington Library, and Bury Interchange.

There will also be events at Church Lane Community Centre Drop In and Sedgley Community Centre.
