A women’s support group is appealing for new members and "more visibility" in Bury.

Happy Me Community CIC, which is run by Donna Webb and Tik Pavion, is urging women to come along to a "safe space" where they can “feel connected, less lonely and make new friends".

The group, which was established last year, is designed to “empower women of every age, race and ethnicity” through free holistic practices that aid physical and mental health.

Donna said: “Tik and I founded the group as our passion is supporting women of all ages.

“We started by running a stay and play for mothers and toddlers as a pilot. It was successful, so we decided to go one step further and establish the Happy Me Community CIC for all women.

“Our aim is to empower more women, and help women see their worth no matter what they do.”

Happy Me Community CIC offers services in Bury, Radcliffe and Whitefield.

These range from a peer support group, to a social club for women with long-term health conditions, to a "Happy Mums" circle for new mothers and pregnant women.

They also offer programmes that support women’s well-being and mindfulness, careers in holistic health, social enterprise development, and mentorship.

“My background is in holistic health,” said Donna, who is a qualified holistic therapist and reiki teacher.

“And Tik’s lived experience as a mother of three has compounded her passion for bringing care to pregnant women and new mums in the community.

“The group is essentially peer support, and Tik and I concentrate on what we can do specifically to help women.

"This means we offer a variety of fantastic opportunities that empower all women to be the best version of themselves.”

Alongside their community groups, Happy Me Community CIC also frequently collaborate with businesses to support days out and activities for women.

Most recently, they joined forces with Flourish Together, a support network for social entrepreneurs.

“In collaboration with Flourish, we have helped four Bury women access a free well-being course,” recalled Donna.

“Additionally, 16 of our women are partaking in a free nine-week course, training them to give facials, manicures and pedicures.

“Not only are these courses giving women skills, but they also empower these women and raise their self-confidence and worth."

Tik added: “We know that many women do not realise there is a safe space available for them to come along.

“But we truly believe that every woman is entitled to be happy, feel connected and listened to. That is what we offer in all our groups.”
