There will be no Bonfire Night firework display at Heaton Park again next month.
Manchester City Council has confirmed it will not be holding any celebrations to mark the historical event, which has been the case since 2019, before the pandemic.

Instead, the local authority says it has "reprioritised" its funding to provide a range of free activities in parks across the city.
Executive member for vibrant neighbourhoods at Manchester City Council, Cllr Lee-Ann Igbon, said: "We won't be holding bonfires/fireworks events in November as we have reprioritised our funding to support and enhance the delivery of a wide range of free, community focused activities in parks across the city."
